Kay Kwok is the first designer from the city to dress the award-winning artist and fashion icon.
Beyoncé has been pulling out all the fashion stops on her Renaissance tour recently, which kicked off earlier this month, wearing custom looks night after night by major designers such as Mugler, Alexander McQueen, Loewe and more.
Last night during her Stockholm performance, Beyoncé took to the stage in a futuristic ensemble by Hong Kong brand KWK by Kay Kwok that is also featured in the Renaissance Tour book. This marks the global mega star’s first collaboration with a Hong Kong designer.
The look worn by Queen B consisted of a 3D printed chrome helmet and body piece with sculpted arms that is embracing her from behind, with the latter being from KWK by Kay Kwok’s Chapter 2 collection that showed at London Fashion Week in September last year.
Kwok launched his label in 2013, and was the first Hong Kong menswear designer to show at London Fashion Week. Since then, his brand DNA has transitioned into something genderless and experimental, with Kwok often using unusual materials to create sculptural and artistic pieces. Other celebrities whom Kwok has dressed, both local and international stars alike, include Aaron Kwok, Karen Mok, Emma Chamberlain and Lil Nas X.
