Matter Matters is a Hong Kong-based brand founded by designer Flora Leung in 2013. The design concept of the brand is influenced by Art Deco, Bauhaus and Post-modernist aesthetics from 80s Memphis. Innovative use of contrastingly coloured and symmetrical geometric shaped leather for wallets and handbags has become synonymous with the brand and immediately recognisable. The colourful and impressive graphics of Matter Matters always touch people with happiness and innocence. Flora is convinced that good designs will never be outdated, which they always start with the understanding of the relationships between people, products and lifestyles. Up till today, the product range of the brand has expanded from handbags to garments, scarves, accessories, etc., aligns with the brand ideas of practical, timeless, classic and fun. The originality and playfulness brought Matter Matters critics’ acclaim and commercial success. Since its launch in July 2013, the brand has earned extensive coverage by international media such as WWD, L'Officiel, New York Times, Time Out, Vogue, Elle, Elle Décor, Nylon, Marie Claire, Now Fashion and Refinery29, etc.

Designer Flora Leung graduated from the Department of Visual Communication, The Birmingham City University in 2004. She simultaneously worked as a freelance graphic designer and also as an art director at advertising agencies. After the graduation from her second degree, Cordwainers Accessories Design at London College of Fashion, with the design ideas Flora conceived during school, she started Matter Matters. She also works as a stylist and art director.
